Kath an Icon in Male Dominated Industry.

  • Kath manages Trade Joinery/Fisher Aluminium, a company owned by her Father. The firm employs 10 staff

working in the residential and commercial market.

  • Under her guidance the company has won national recognition with awards for aluminium design and installation.
  • Her background is architectural draughting, having trained in the Ministry of Works, attaining a NZ Certificate of

Engineering.

  • She is also a qualified kitchen designer, a member of Architectural Designers and has just completed a post

graduate certificate in Construction Management.

  • Kath was the local Manager of NZ Master Builders for 20 years and for 15 years ran the Registered Master

Builders Federation House of the Year Competition.

  • In 2008 she broke new ground and became the President of the Master Builders in Gisborne.
  • Kath is also a community appointee on the Tairawhiti District Health Board Hospital Advisory Committee.

Þ Kath’s began in 1978, when at 21 she won the “Gisborne Young Career Girl” competition organized by BPW

Þ Is an integral part of the club since joining, holding the offices of Secretary, Treasurer and President in 1997-98

Þ Served on the National Education Committee

Þ Was conference convener for the 1998 conference held in Gisborne

Þ Currently on the organizing committee for conference 2010.

Kath values the networking and support that BPW has provided, “there is something great in meeting with like minded women who appreciate the stresses and juggling act that work sometimes is.”
