Yvonne Copeland –  Her Story:

  • As a BPW member

Been a very active BPW member attending conferences in Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Gisborne, Nelson, Taupo, Greymouth and regularly attending candle lighting at numerous clubs.

Yvonne hosted functions at her home and organised a fashion parade to raise money for the Commonwealth Games pool, St Johns Ambulance Station and School for the Deaf.

In 1995 she attended the Silver Jubilee BPW West Auckland. During her term as President :

¨ BPW West Auckland was a very active and social club

¨ had the largest membership during her term due to her promoting as a business owner in the district for 32 years and a City Councillor for 15 years.

  • Yvonne says that BPW gave her the confidence to do all these things and to make some very dear friends here and abroad.
  • Although West Auckland went into recess on 23 December 1995, some members still meet informally once a year.
  • Since moving to Albany in 2007, Yvonne became a member of BPW Hibiscus Coast,

continues to be actively involved hosting functions

contributes on the interview panel for the Tertiary Study Award.
