Gwynn Skinner – Her story:

  • How Gwynn became a member of BPW Mana (formerly known as BPW Porirua):

Her Personnel Manager in 1979 asked if she was interested in activities outside of work, home and the children and they started to look at what was available at that time

They both first tried Toastmasters, but felt it wasn’t for them

They heard about BPW setting up a club in Porirua

Attended the first night and Gwynn joined that same night and became the Club Secretary.

  • As a member of BPW Mana:

Involved in various projects over the years which has been invaluable to the club

Projects such as the Saturday Morning Markets the club used to run in Porirua.  Members had fun in selling all sorts of different craft and wares, hot or cold, rain or shine

Enjoys her membership with BPW, the camaraderie and the topical issues we tackle

Is appreciative of the support she receives from the club members

Through BPW has become aware of how many outstanding women there are in New Zealand but especially aware of those in Porirua

Is a Mentor in the club’s Keys to Achievement programme.
