Professional & Personal Insight:

  • Majority of working life has been in real estate beginning as salesperson in Geraldine, South Canterbury, 1987-1988,

transferred to Alexandra in 1989 continued in real estate until relocation to Dunedin in 2000.  In 2001 began work as a

Property Manager for a group of developers and continue in this work.  Hold the AREINZ qualification.

  • Real estate combined two great interests for me- people and houses- and now helping oversee the development and maintenance of the three historic buildings I manage is extremely rewarding.

Carolyn Richardson –  Her Story:

  • As a member of BPW Central Otago

serving as a committee member for 8 years,

became club President and was involved in the following:

¨ initiated a Second Start Scholarship for women wishing to retrain and organised very successful fund-raising events to fund this

¨ established a Science Award for a female student at Dunstan High School.

  • As a member of BPW Dunedin

served as a committee member

became club President and was involved in the following:

¨ breakfast to mark women in business week

¨ seminars for women interested in government boards and committees

¨ biggest project was to steer a committee in 2003-04 for a joint BPW Dunedin/Habitat for Humanity project including an art auction and a ‘Mainly Women Housebuild’

¨ Results BPW Dunedin received runners up award in the 2004 Trust Power Dunedin Community Awards (Health and Wellbeing section)

¨ Booker Marketing Award at the annual BPW conference in 2004.

  • Other BPW activities have included:  attended various conferences and represented BPW Dunedin at NCW.
